Its all about Timing

Right Place Right Time

I was discussing our latest ministry trip with a friend. Whether or not he really meant to do so, my friend reminded me of the incredible privilege in which our small team, and many others like us, operates. We were talking about the number of times we are invited into homes and churches to minister all those things that Jesus Himself ministered. Things like mercy, forgiveness, healing, deliverance, hope, and peace.

I have never been called to be a pastor; only ever to be a minister of God’s mercy. I am commissioned to minister mercy and not judgement – even when judgement may be deserved. That is our Mission Statement. So when my friend and I were talking, I was describing to him the way in which we operated on this last trip. Our host, the pastor of a small church of under 100 people, had organised meetings in both private and public; meetings for just one or two people to be ministered to, and meetings for a hundred or more to receive ministry. The timing for all these meetings was crucial as it had to be right for the people expected to attend each meeting.

After I described all this, my friend exclaimed, “That sounds so inviting to me - to actually be in a place where such ministry is able to be received.” This last trip meant that our host had to organise 12 meetings over four and a half days, plus all the logistics of getting us from and then separately back to the airport over 120km away. He had to organise interpreters, cars, meals, rest, and accommodation. All this for one visit and we have been on about 90 such visits to 11 different European countries from Spain to Slovakia over the past four years. That is probably 750-odd “places where such ministry is able to be received.” That is also 750-odd separate Words from God for the people we have been meeting – and that is for the meetings alone. If you consider that on every single trip we have had at least one meeting, often 2 or 3, of 30-40 people, all wanting to receive a separate Word from the Lord, and thats at least another 2500-10,000 words of prophecy, healing, or encouragement for individuals.

This is no boast. Rather it is a realisation of God’s mercy and power. Every single Word delivered in the right place at the right time.

God really does move in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. We are a very small and little known ministry and yet the Lord has used even such as us to reach hundreds, even thousands of His hurting people in a hurting world. It really is about being in the right place at the right time – with the right Word from God. What an incredible honour and privilege. To be trusted enough to be allowed to speak into the lives of all those congregations, all those individuals, and all those families. To be given their platform or pulpit from which to preach, teach, exhort, heal, and set free or deliver.

I stand a very humbled man before the Throne of Grace tonight. Yes Lord, Your Grace is sufficient for me. Thank you so very much for the honour of being allowed to take your Word to all those people. I am but a conduit – God, the Holy Spirit, is the power. All I do is turn up and turn the switch and watch Him light the place up. As CS Lewis may well have said, “Aslan, the Lion of Judah, is no tame lion. All we have to do is open His cage and let Him loose.”
