RoFMI Trip to Denmark

I get questions all the time about what happens when we go out on our various mission trips. So, just for once, here is the report for last weeks trip to Korsor in Denmark. By the way - this was a very typical schedule for our trips.

RoFMI Trip to Denmark October 2011 Report

RoFMI, for those of you new to us, is Rivers of Fire Ministries International. It is the ministry of Peter and Glenys Barnes from Essex, England. It’s a strange RoFMI trip that begins without Peter Barnes – but this one did. All other ‘normalities’ were present and correct – early start, John and me (Chris), flight at the crack of dawn etc – but no Peter. We left home 04:20, Stansted by 05:00, Flight at 07:00. We arrived at Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen, at about 10.00 local time to be met by our wonderful friend and host Pastor Preben Westh – whose support and encouragement never fails to uphold us.

Friday 14th - First stop – Pastor Bo Schultz lives about half way between Copenhagen and Korsor so we stopped there for coffee and fellowship. Pastor Bo was also to speak at the meeting on Sunday evening in Korsor so we had to sort out the speaking order and ensure that we didn’t clash with our messages. We had a great time with him for around 2 hours before resuming the journey to Korsor.

In the evening, Pastor Preben held a prayer meeting at his Pinsekirken Church in Korsor. It started at 7 and after praise and worship Chris spoke on Naaman from 2 kings 5. It’s all about doing whatever God asks or tells us to do. Words of knowledge, healings and prophecy flowed as well as prayer. It seemed to set the tone for the whole weekend.

On Saturday John and I had meetings at 11 and 3 with some of Pastor Preben’s church leadership couples where we shared fellowship and prayer. After a short break, we went to a meeting at 6 for dinner and fellowship with Henrietta & Lars – a couple who live close by the church in Korsor. Other guests were there and we ministered to them and, in particular, to their adult children. There were prayers for deliverance, healing, and for the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

On Sunday John went to speak at Pastor Jonar’s Pinsekirken Church in Kalundborg – one of Pastor Preben’s sister churches. He spoke on The Process of Sanctification. He started with John 17:17 and went on from there. He returned to Korsor after lunch. Chris stayed in Korsor sharing his dream for a relevant church in 21st century. It all went very well and once again, words of knowledge and prayers for healing flowed freely.

A lovely lady from Preben’s church, Merethe, invited us all to dinner before we started the main healing meeting at 7p.m.. Pastor Bo Schultz started things off and spoke beautifully gently about healing before Chris and John gave testimonies and Chris also invited one of Preben’s members, Tove, to testify as well. 35-40 words of knowledge followed and every single one of them was claimed. There was a long queue and therefore a long time of prayer. The whole meeting lasted from 7 til about 11. The sense of God’s presence was very strong throughout the meeting.

On Monday morning we visited a wonderful 80 year old evangelist and his wife, where we had a lovely time of much prayer and fellowship. After a short break, we drove to a village called Stenlille (Little Stone) to meet the pastors there. We had met them originally on Friday night and they invited us over to Stenlille for the Monday. There was a time of wonderful warm fellowship, prayer, and prophecy again. On the way back, God once again showed us that He had control as the car began to overheat. However, with the Lord’s help, we made it to a garage and bought the necessary coolant and it got us to our destination OK in the end.

After this, John had to catch the train by 6 and his flight home ready for his grandson’s 12th birthday on Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning I/we had a fairly long deliverance session – 3 hours – before meal with Preben, and coffee with a young family from Preben’s church. Then Chris had to finish packing and take the train to catch his flight home. He landed at Stansted just after 10.30 and was in his car by 11 !!! Driving 110 miles home by 12:50, he and Linda were up talking about it all til well after 4a.m.

WOW what a trip. Glory to God \o/
