Its All About Timing
God’s
timing of course – not ours. When we are going through a rough patch, all the
‘bad’ things seem to crowd around us, threatening to suffocate us with their
intensity. The pressure mounts and keeps on mounting until, like an old pressure
cooker, we feel the need to explode at some one. Anyone will do just so long as
we can let off a little steam.
It
is usually at this very moment that God does something to change everything.
Isn’t
that so like God? One moment all the pressure in the world. Next moment – gone.
But have you noticed how, when God moves, His timing is perfect every time. Not
too early; not too late; but right on time. When you look back over the years,
and remember all those times when God moved in your life, I think you will
realise just how good His timing was – no matter what you thought at the time.
Right
now, in our lives, God has moved – not suddenly nor unexpectedly, but He has
moved and we are astounded by the timing once again. We had been praying about
this when, suddenly, a door opened for us. It was an opportunity for us that
solved several problems – for us, for our church, and for one or two other
people as well. It was an opportunity that fitted so very well with our own
ministry that the Lord has been calling us into these past 18 months. It is the
reason He brought us to this town, this house, this church, in the first place.
Its all about timing, and this has all the hallmarks of God’s perfect timing.
So
life’s grand adventure goes on. Never dull nor boring; not out of our
capabilities; always within God’s will for us. It may be out of our comfort
zone but that is always a given, that when God moves in our lives, it is to
move us out of our comfort zone to the new place he has for us.
We
are excited and a bit nervous about it all. We know that this is God's
trademark way of moving and timing, and we now know that this is part, most, or
all of the reason He had us move to this church in this rural town. So now we
watch and wait to see how He moves in this venture. That's the real exciting
bit for us as we wait for the manifestation of the dreams and visions He has
given us. Sometimes we stand in awe as
He makes it all happen around us as we totter on from pillar to post in an
effort to keep up with Him.
