Let God be God 4
This is the final part of the mini series on
letting God be God. We have briefly discussed letting God be God; letting the
church be the church; and letting children be children.
Let
God be God
Each of us, God, you and I, and children all have a
place in God’s Kingdom work here on earth. We pray earnestly for God’s kingdom
to come and God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. I suggest that,
if we are to see the reality of that in our lives, then we all need to stick to
our roles and encourage others and our children to play their part too.
If we were only to allow God to be God, without us
restraining Him or restricting Him in any way, then our prayers will be
answered, miracles would be an everyday occurrence, and the world would once
again take notice of the church of Jesus Christ.
God will do it – He promised in Numbers 23:19 “God is
not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He
said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”
Why must we always interfere and “help” God do His
own work?
Why must we always give Him directions or advice?
Does He not know best?
Why must we always pray our wants list without
trusting Him for all that we need?
Leave Him to do His part – He is “the Lord, He is God” 1 Kings 18:39
Think on all these things and let he who has ears
to hear . . . . .
Isaiah 40:10-18
“Behold, the Lord God shall come with a strong hand, And His arm shall rule for Him; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.
He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And
carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with
young.
Who has measured the
waters in the hollow of His hand, Measured heaven with a span And calculated
the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales And the
hills in a balance?
Who has directed the
Spirit of the Lord, Or as His counsellor has taught Him? With
whom did He take counsel, and who
instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him
knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding?
Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, And are
counted as the small dust on the scales; Look, He lifts up the isles as a very
little thing. And Lebanon is
not sufficient to burn, Nor its beasts sufficient for a burnt offering. All
nations before Him are as
nothing, And they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless.
To whom then will you
liken God?”
This is my God – Hallelujah \o/
