Letter to the Church
I
believe the Lord has given me this passage for the churches today who are
struggling to be faithful to His Word and His commandments such as the great
commission and loving our neighbours.
Revelation 3:7-13 To the
Church in Philadelphia
“To the angel
of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of
David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know
your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I
know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not
denied my name. I will make those who are of the synagogue of
Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them
come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. Since
you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the
hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants
of the earth.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take
your crown. The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in
the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name
of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is
coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new
name.
Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
Church, He will honour those who are faithful and have
kept to His Word. Those who did not pick and choose which parts of His Word to
keep and which to ignore or leave out. Those who have faithfully proclaimed the
whole Gospel including sin, repentance, atonement, baptism, and rebirth.
He has opened a door for you that no-one can shut.
A door to harvesting the fields that are already white – ready for the great
harvest at the end of time. Those He choses, He uses. Those He uses, He enables
and supplies.
Do not fret nor worry, for He will strengthen you.
Even though you feel weak and helpless in the face of rising restrictions and
persecution, the Lord nevertheless is and will be your strength. You may feel
under increasing pressure and criticism from many who claim Christianity but who
have strayed far from the truth of His Word. He will cause them to acknowledge
the truths you are preaching and they will return to the straight path.
As
you endure, He will protect you from what is coming. Isn’t that the most
encouraging thing? God has your backs and will protect you from much or even
all that is coming to the churches. There are coming great trials for all on
earth especially the Church. But His promise is that He is coming soon to take
us home and where He will make you a pillar of His temple and of the New
Jerusalem. Your names shall be written indelibly in His temple for ever. There
we will finally say that He is with you and will never leave you.
Be
encouraged Church – God has your names written in heaven and He is preparing
you for the season to come.
Amen
