Clean Hearts

Heart Disease

Jeremiah 17:9-10 "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

Let me ask you – how is your heart? Is it right before God, or is there some ‘surgery’ for Him to do on you? I find it so interesting to note the full scripture above Jeremiah 17:9-10 "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”  (Emphasis mine) And beyond cure? That’s a bit hard isn’t it?

This maybe has something to do with motives and agenda. You see, everything we say and do, or even pray, is measured twice by God. Firstly, He looks to see if it is in line with His will for each particular incidence. If it is in line with His will, then He looks at our hearts and minds to make sure our motives and agendas are all in line with Him too – no ‘hidden’ ones. If all is well, then we will get an answer. Otherwise we may as well whistle down the wind because God will not honour anything that doesn’t first honour Him.

Are your prayers being answered or are they so much hot air? Is your heart right with the Lord or is it still dirtied by uncleansed sin? Time for a clean up ??? Ask Him – He’ll show you how.

Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
