God Created . . . .

Everywhere and Everything

“Omniscience” – there’s a word to spark the imagination. There I was, just admiring the world from our windows, when the word dropped into my mind. It was quickly followed by a familiar voice saying, “What are you thinking about?” “Creation – what a wonder it all is, Lord.” “Why don’t you write about My omniscience – in your blog.”

Hang on – that’s almost a show stopper ! “I don’t know what it really means, Lord.” I protested. I heard Him chuckle as He said, “Well perhaps this will teach you something about Me then”. Please don’t tell me God has no sense of humour. LOL

Omniscience – The science of ‘Omni’? Where’s the dictionary when you need it? Probably propping up the wonky table in the other room. Aha – here we go then –

Ominscient – Having total knowledge, knowing everything

Omniscience - Infinite knowledge; the quality or attribute of fully knowing all things: an attribute of God.

What a well informed dictionary! Having infinite knowledge. Well, infinite is a word long used for describing anything about God. So let’s start there.

We are constantly being told of the infinity of space, with star systems being discovered billions of light years away, Also scientists tell us, the universe is still expanding – as opposed to the theory promulgated a few years ago that the universe is imploding !!! To bring things a little closer to home, we have the sight that greeted me this morning as I peered out of the window. The beauty of the countryside around our homes. The variety of life out there. The infinite variety of design and size. From minute insects and even mushroom spores, which are pretty small apparently, to the giant spreading oak trees, tall sequoias and redwoods, blue whales and other giant living things.

What variety – and all of them alive. It has recently been proven, by the same scientists who claim evolution rather than creation, that stars, mountains, and trees ‘sing’ – thus proving scripture again. When we think about the whole of creation, from our back yard to the furthest reaches of space; and when we think that God, the Lord God Almighty to give Him His proper name, created all of it, then we have to admit that, if He created it all – made it, put it all together, breathed life into it all – then our God does indeed need to know everything.

He needs omniscient knowledge. He is omniscient.

  1. I once had the thought that if we learned something new about God every moment, that even having all eternity we would never see the end of how great God is.
