This
is a short mini-series on the truths and beauty of some of my favourite hymns.
I have chosen five hymns – four old and one new – that simply speak to me.
There are many others and I am sure your choice may be very different from
mine. Here is my fourth choice.
Popularized a while back now, Amazing Grace has
been spoken of as the most popular hymn of all time – and possibly it is. It speaks of all that Jesus did for us and all
that is to come as a result of His sacrifice.
Amazing
Grace, how sweet the sound,
That
saved a wretch like me.
I
once was lost but now am found,
Was
blind, but now I see.
T'was
Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And
Grace, my fears relieved.
How
precious did that Grace appear
The
hour I first believed.
Through
many dangers, toils and snares
I
have already come;
'Tis
Grace that brought me safe thus far
and
Grace will lead me home.
When
we've been here ten thousand years
Bright
shining as the sun.
We've
no less days to sing God's praise
Than
when we've first begun.
