Hard Times Ahead
How about this for a Bible prophecy that has come
true today?
2 Timothy 3 “But
realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For
men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers,
disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving,
irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of
good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure
rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness,
although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.” (NASB)
These
days are certainly with us right now. There is so much going on in the world,
of all of the traits described in this passage; so much worship of money,
power, and position; so much arrogance and narcissism; so much maliciousness – all
sin by any other name – that even Holy Spirit appears to be withdrawing. Yet He
is not withdrawing. He is simply manifesting and staying only with those who
are producing good fruit.
Hard
and even harder times are ahead. Even so, the Lord says, “These are the days of harvest. You have sown the good seed into fertile
soil. You have watered and nurtured the seedlings as they grew – often without
ever seeing them at all. Now is the time of harvest. But be aware, there is
still a price to be paid. My precious Son paid the price of redemption at
Calvary but there is still the cost of harvest to be paid. If you are willing,
then I am willing too.”, says the Lord. “If you will even meet Me half way,
then I will give you a harvest of such abundance you will be unable to hold it
all. It will cost you to reap this harvest, but if you pay that price, then I
will make your barns so full, you will have to build new ones and still you
will have to share My abundance with everyone around you.”
What
a wonderful God, Lord, and Saviour we serve. Amen
Hallelujah

You are right. I have been studying Romans 1 again lately, as it would appear to be speaking of this time, especially where God warns that He will give them over to their sins...this is referring to homosexuality as well as the sins listed above. I never thought I would see the day when these things would become so commonplace in the church of Christ! Especially the greed...the merchandising of the gospel and the Lord's people following after selling their own books and other things in order to get rich and famous.~God Bless You~ Lisa
ReplyDeleteBless you Lisa. It is a very sad fact that many Christians and churches have been selling much more than telling. The Gospel has been lost in the morass of merchandise and expensive conventions. Where has all the action gone? Where can it go when it is time spent with fellow Christians at conventions and not spent with the lost and trying to get them saved. I fear for so many who may not even be born again at all. They keep to themselves and never share all that they so expensively learn at their conventions.
DeleteThats my little soap box for today :-))
