Another Sign of the Times
The
news that Pope Benedict is to resign his office from the end of February is yet
another sign of the times. There are those who believe that he is the last
pope, in accordance with an ancient prophecy of St. Malachy in 1139? There are
those who believe that, this being so, the Antichrist is about to make his
entrance and his presence among us known. There are those who believe that, if
the Antichrist does indeed appear, then the end times scenario laid out in the
Bible is about to unfold. That would mean that within a relatively short space
of time, Jesus will appear in the clouds, the last trumpet will sound, and
every believer will be caught up to meet Him. It’s called the Rapture.
I
do not need to comment at all on whether or not the rapture is even real, let
alone almost upon us as, I have made my views very clear in the past. All I am
going to say is that we need to be ready – more than ever before – we need to
be prepared and ready. It seems likely, if Biblical prophecy is to be believed,
that, in the last days, there is to be a great outpouring of the Spirit, (Joel
2), then we must all be prepared to have our personal and corporate agendas
thrown away as the Spirit of God comes upon us in power as never before.
If
this outpouring of the Spirit is to generate, as many believe it will, one last
incredible revival, then we need to be ready and willing to do whatever the
Lord tells us to do – immediately He tells us. There will be no time to ask
questions. There will be no time for organised indoctrination and training
sessions. There will barely be time to receive those who call upon the Lord
into His Kingdom. They will rise up witnessing with signs and wonders that will
make our heads spin. They will prove that you don’t have to learn a thing in
order to prophesy, in order to heal, in order to speak in other tongues as the
Spirit gives utterance.
My
spirit is so excited at this moment that I can hardly write all this down. No
doubt there will be those who pour scorn upon me for saying these things – but I
don’t care. If I am wrong – I am wrong and so what?
If
I am right, however, . . . . . . .
