Where there is no way

Where there is no way

The song by Don Moen says this :-
God will make a way, Where there seems to be no way, He works in ways we cannot see, He will make a way for me, He will be my guide, Hold me closely to His side, With love and strength  For each new day, He will make a way, He will make a way.”
Simple words stating a simple truth – God will make a way where there seems to be no way. He has done it for thousands of years.

He started at the Red Sea when He led the Children of Israel out of Egypt. When the priests entered the water, the sea parted, and everyone crossed on dry land. The same thing happened when, forty years later, these same people crossed over the Jordan to enter the Promised Land. Once again, the priests entered the water and, as they did, the water stopped flowing and piled up while the twelve tribes crossed over the river into Caanan, the Promised Land. Once again God made a way where there was no way.

So it is today. God is still in the miracle working department, making ways where man can certainly see no way. We have experienced this for ourselves when we moved to this house in this new town. We came to view our house and the agent immediately took it off the market and held it for us – a totally unprecedented step in the current market place. God wanted us in this place and He absolutely made sure we got it !! An amazing God we serve.

Now, our church is on the verge of something God has promised for a long time. Yet for almost an equally long time, we have circled around waiting for God to move. He won’t move until we do. This is called a step of faith. If we wait for God to move, where is our faith? We are moving only because God first moved. However, as God will not move like that, He is waiting for us to take that first step of faith, then He will honour that faith and move with us – opening doors which need to be opened and closing those that need to be closed. While we cannot see the way ahead, any step we take has to be taken in faith and God is waiting for us to do just that.

So pastor is now leading the way. Metaphorically speaking, Pastor has announced that he will step into the Jordan, calling us to follow his lead. Many will follow but some won’t. Sad – but they will be left behind. Personally, I can hardly wait for God to move in our midst. We cannot ‘see’ how any move of God can affect our town. A small town of less than 20,000 souls and about 10 churches. We have a vision for 1000 people in our church alone. That is a lot of people in such a small place, but where we see no way, God can make a way and we will just worship Him until He does.
