Answered Prayer

Answered Prayer

There is just something about an answered prayer that fills our hearts with awe and with gratitude. It also brings a smile to our lips and a spring in our step, together with a song in the heart – the analogies go on. Well, we are just so-o-o encouraged at the moment by the answers to prayer we are seeing and experiencing. If you will bear with me, I will tell you about a very few of them.

When we took on our charity shop and café, we prayed to be in Gods will, for insight and wisdom, and all the help we would need. The Lord has supplied beyond our expectations. Answered prayer.

When we moved to our house, the Lord had us name it Sanctuary. Since then He has led our church to ask us to start a ‘home group’ for the lost, the hurting, the back-slidden, and those outside the church. Last week we moved the group to the café because folk coming into the shop wanted to join us. Answered prayer.

Our one prayer has always been to see souls saved and we have seen this. Only last week, we had a young lady give her life to Christ within just one week of coming to the shop for the very first time. She is not the first and she will not be the last – all praise and Glory to God \o/ Answered prayer.

We have both long sought to be presence carriers of Christ’s presence in our home, our work, our church, and in all our dealings with the world. This week, not for the first, second or even third time, we had customers and staff remark how they love the atmosphere of the shop. That is Christ’s presence through His precious Holy Spirit and is, for us, the most precious answer to prayer.

Since Holy Spirit led us to this new home, town, and church, we have seen endless answers to prayer both little and large. We are so humbled and privileged by the way the Lord appears to be using us and answering our prayers in this place. We know that we know we are in the right place, in the right timing, for God to use us in some small way for His Kingdom purposes. Since we have taken our focus from our situation to His Kingdom, we have never once been at a loss for anything – He has supplied our every need and answered every kingdom focussed prayer.

God answers prayer as prayer avails much!! I will never claim to be the ‘righteous man’ of James 5:16 but I do know that prayer does indeed avail much. Praise and Glory to God.
