Treating God with Contempt

Numbers 14:11 “The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them?”

I am constantly amazed the way the Old Testament speaks into today’s world. Here is a prime example of a Rhema word from God given straight from His Word. This present world is treating both the Lord Himself and His people with the utmost contempt.

Here we are, in the middle of the new “Fall of Rome” – i.e. the slow demise of America into a Marxist dictatorship; surrounded by financial institutions seemingly hell bent on financial control of the world economy; a state church also seemingly hell bent on self destruction through apostasy; a papacy similarly twisted in two by a power struggle the like of which has never before been witnessed; and an oblivious world population hell bent on throwing every moral law and value out of their collective windows.

Everything God gave to us is being flung back in His face.

Hmmm – does it surprise you that, being a gentleman, He is withholding His hand at times; that He is not always present in our meetings??? We ignore Him in our schools, in our laws, in our politics, in our businesses, in our homes, and in our lives. Fortunately, He doesn’t treat us the same as we treat Him. He loves us despite “us being us”.

Come on church – wake up to the times. Jesus is coming again soon. Be prepared.
